Not everyone can handle criticism, but if a person is in entertainment, they need to have tough skin. This is especially true where Drake is concerned, as he faces more criticism than any other rapper. Due to his Toronto background and his past “Degrassi” role, Drake has faced a major backlash.
Many took his television roles and his Canadian upbringing as Drake getting off easy and not working for what he has. When he rapped about having little to nothing, hip hop fans scoffed. His creative songs appear more natural than his gritty tracks, but Drake has shown he is indeed “about that life.”
Picking up where he left off with “Started from the Bottom,” Drake returned with “5 AM in Toronto.” Earlier this week, Drake released the “5 AM in Toronto” music video and the background matched the lyrics. With Drake showing the world where he really came from, Hip Hop Vibe gave him Video of the Week this week.
