It all started one year ago with “The Recipe” for Kendrick Lamar. A fast riser, Game picked up on Kendrick Lamar’s growing popularity and pointed him in the direction of Dr. Dre and things changed for him. Kendrick Lamar featured Dr. Dre on “The Recipe” and became a mainstream favorite.
However, when Kendrick Lamar began seriously pushing good kid, m.A.A.d. city, most of his attention was focused on “Swimming Pools (Drank).” During the summer, a music video was filmed and Kendrick Lamar rose to the top of the game. Kendrick Lamar is currently pushing “Poetic Justice” with Drake and “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” with Jay-Z.
But, Kendrick Lamar has plans of revisiting his first mainstream single. Recently, Hip Hop-N-More partnered with Walmart for their new series, Walmart Risers. During their interview, Kendrick Lamar talked about “The Recipe,” for which a music video was filmed, and he says may be released this year.
