Instead of waiting around to put out a new album, Yelawolf took matters into his own hands when he decided to release another project. In 2011, Yelawolf released his major label debut and wanted to return immediately with his sophomore album. When Yelawolf did not release his album in 2012, rumors began to surface.

Signed to Eminem’s Shady Records, Yelawolf was signed to the label early in 2011, and many felt it was because of his similar voice pattern to Eminem. Regardless of how Yelawolf sounds, he indeed was the hottest mixtape rapper in the game. A bidding war started and Yelawolf was signed.

Recently, Yelawolf ventured to Texas to perform at SXSW 2013. During this period of time, Yelawolf released Trunk Muzik Returns. Instead of waiting on his sophomore album, Yelawolf decided to release a free album. The Alabama emcee held the album release party in Texas for SXSW.
