In 2008, the world was introduced to Mack Maine and his emergence came as a total shock to everyone. By 2008, Lil Wayne established himself as the hottest rapper in the game. Reaching all of his goals and in grand fashion, Jay-Z even passed the baton down to Lil Wayne on his triple platinum Tha Carter III.

Lil Wayne changed the game with his “Lollipop” single with Static Major (rest in peace) and he followed the song with “Got Money.” Featuring T-Pain at an all-time high, the anticipation was high for the music video. But, instead of getting the energetic third verse from Lil Wayne, fans got Mack Maine’s verse.

Eventually, Mack Maine would settle into his role as president of Young Money and he was responsible for adding Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga to the label. Yesterday, the mogul sat down with Sway Calloway with MTV’s “RapFix Live.” During the interview, he talked about Tyga and Nicki Minaj appearing on Future’s album.
