Even with New York hip hop on a strong comeback, many feel the essence was the only thing missing. Back in the 1990s that everyone refers to as the “golden era,” the essence was there through the artists of that time. Many of these artists continue to go strong, such as Raekwon, Nas, and Jay-Z, but the essence is missing.

Though it is returning through Joey Bada$$ and others, things like the “tunnel era” provided that essence. During this period of time, N.O.R.E. also was a major figure on the hip hop scene in New York. Recently, N.O.R.E. has gone through a name change and is now referred to as P.A.P.I.

N.O.R.E. talked to “The Combat Jack Show” and he brought back memories of the good old days of 1990s New York City. One of the memories brought back was the “tunnel era” of New York hip hop. During the interview, N.O.R.E. talked bout his CNN partner, Capone, getting hit in the head.
