On Tuesday, Illboyz brought to the world the top five albums of the year. As always, up for debate, five of 2012’s dopest albums from the mainstream were chronicled. But, if anyone thought Illboyz was done counting down albums… they were wrong. Playing real and staying ill, there is much more of 2012 to count down.
Everyone expected and knew about the albums from Game, T.I., Meek Mill, and Kendrick Lamar, but not too many people were checking for Skyzoo, Large Professor, Sean Price, and ScHoolboy Q. So, for the real hip hop heads, Illboyz showed off rappers few people have heard of. But, be on the lookout for more ScHoolboy Q in 2013.
Some of the dopest albums of 2012 flew under the radar. So, on this list, Illboyz counted down five albums from independent artist. As was the case with the previous countdown, it is all open for discussion, but this is Illboyz’ time. Check out the video below to see the albums chronicled that were probably slept on.
