Had there been no Big Daddy Kane, more than likely there would be no Jay-Z. Longtime hip hop fans often compare Jay-Z to a modern-day Big Daddy Kane. Close to twenty years have passed since Big Daddy Kane last released an album. Over the course of this decade and a half, fans have waited on Big Daddy Kane to drop a new album.
Back in 2009, Rakim returned with his comeback album, The Seventh Seal. Once Rakim returned and found much success, anticipation only built for Big Daddy Kane to also return. One veteran in the rap game who never left was DJ Premier, who has worked with everyone and is currently working with newcomer, Joey Bada$$.
Big Daddy Kane recently talked to HipHopDX.com and he talked about some new music he has in the works. With the exception of periodically releasing singles every now and again, Big Daddy Kane has not released any music since the early 1990s. Since 2012 featured many big comebacks, Big Daddy Kane plans to be the first 2013 comeback, with his new album coming with DJ Premier.
