By the way the news was delivered this morning, it appeared as if French Montana had a call as close as Rick Ross. Recently, French Montana performed in Philadelphia and he spent the day touring the city. French Montana would do an interview with Power 99, where he opened up on a few things.

Fans were a bit worried when there were reports of a shooting when French Montana and  actual Philadelphia native, Meek Mill, were exiting his tour bus. Given how hostile hip hop has been over the past year, fans thought the worst. Throughout the day, there have been reports of French Montana being tied to the shooting.

This past evening, French Montana released a statement setting the record straight. No, there was no involvement from French Montana in the shooting. The shooting, which left one fan dead, was not directly near French Montana and his tour bus. Instead, he was only in the vicinity of the shooting.

Read French Montana’s statement below:

“My bus was located in the vicinity of the incident that took place away from the venue, last night in Philadelphia. I had a peaceful concert and was not involved. My deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to the families of the victims, as well as all of those who were affected.”
