Late in the year of 2006, Rich Boy rose to fame off his “Throw Some Ds” single that became a breakout hit. Immediately following the breakout success, Rich Boy faced a major backlash. However, with Polow Da Don behind him, Rich Boy had a strong run of success into 2007.

Since 2007, Rich Boy has remained out of the spotlight, for the most part. Rich Boy has done well on the mixtape scene, however. Supa Villain, another Alabama emcee, has joined forces with Rich Boy. The two have formed quite the duo and have out a joint mixtape.

Last summer, Rich Boy signed with eOne Music, making him label-mates with Joe Budden and others. Now, Rich Boy is preparing his new album, Break the Pot, which will feature appearances from Maino and Bobby V, among others. Break the Pot is currently set for an April 9 release date.
