Behind Kendrick Lamar, Top Dawg Entertainment’s primary focus is ScHoolboy Q. One of the main reasons Interscope Records added Top Dawg Entertainment to their roster was because of ScHoolboy Q. Initially known for gangsta rap, this new generation of Los Angeles hip hop is known for lyricism.
Due to his immense popularity and the breakout success of his Section.80 album, Kendrick Lamar ended up being the first breakout star from the camp. Early on, it was actually Jay Rock who was the flagship artist. Jay Rock released his official solo debut album in 2011.
Currently, ScHoolboy Q is working on his debut album. Recently, 2DopeBoyz.com had the opportunity to speak with him. One of the biggest up-and-coming rappers out West, with or without TDE, ScHoolboy Q broke down his situation and explained his new album, Oxymoron.
