Though “Karate Chop” has been out for close to a month, only this past week did the world hear the lyrics of the song. Future decided to put Lil Wayne on the remix of the song and package it as a single. This ended up costing Future majorly, as Lil Wayne used his verse on the song to anger most of the urban community.

Lil Wayne often raps about the same thing on every song. However, when he got on this familiar topic, he went too far. During the height of racial tensions during the Civil Rights era, a young man named Emmett Till was brutally murdered. His death, along with the death of others, led to equality in America, Lil Wayne repaid this by mocking his death.

L.A. Reid has talked to the family of Emmett Till and Epic Records released an official apology statement. Meanwhile, Epic Records released an amended version of “Karate Chop,” with Lil Wayne’s portion of the song removed. Now, Future has finally broken his silence on the situation, telling his side of the story to MTV News.
