Drake’s rise to mainstream success coincided with the backlash against Chris Brown, once viewed as the next big thing in R&B. Chris Brown had it all, including teenage romance with Rihanna. However, a public fight in Los Angeles before the Grammys would cost Chris Brown, at the time.
Rihanna moved on from Chris Brown and ended up dating Drake. Meanwhile, Drake began working with all of Chris Brown’s former collaborators. At the time, many assumed there were issues between Chris Brown and Drake. Instead, Drake played a major role in his comeback, but problems began when Chris Brown and Rihanna got involved again.
Last summer, Drake and Chris Brown turned the club out in New York City. The media has had much to say about this in the ensuing months. Closing in on one year since the fight, both Drake and Chris Brown have filed lawsuits against the other over the fight. According to TMZ, both have filed lawsuits claiming the other is at fault for the situation, meanwhile Rihanna has new music in the works.
