New energy is surrounding New York City’s hip hop scene. Initially the New York hip hop scene primarily depended on new music coming from the veterans, Jay-Z, Raekwon, Busta Rhymes, Nas, and the others. Now, however, a bulk of the attention goes to a new crop of rappers. In addition to the Juelz Santana comeback, Vado, Joey Bada$$, and DyMe-A-DuZin are also doing well.

Vado was introduced to the mainstream hip hop world in 2009, when Cam’ron began working with him during his rift from Dipset. In 2010, Vado secured a deal with Interscope Records and it looked as if he would be the next big thing in New York City. Things did not quite work out, but Vado continued making music, releasing Slime Flu 3 last month.

The newest member of DJ Khaled’s We the Best Music Group, fans are looking forward to hearing the collaborations between Vado and Ace Hood. Recently, Vado talked to Young Jack Thriller for ThisIs50.com and he talked about his relationship with Power 105.1’s Angela Yee, along with his mixtape, Slime Flu 3.
