Fans took notice when 50 Cent released the “Major Distribution” music video. In the middle of the music video, fans saw the MMG chain. After the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards and the ensuing fights, 50 Cent hinted toward having Gunplay’s chain. Gunplay admitted to being jumped and losing his chain during the scuffle.
The same week that 50 Cent dropped the “Major Distribution” music video happened to be when Gunplay dropped his mixtape. Given the way 50 Cent operates, with him doing it with the likes of Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Game, and Rick Ross, many felt it was a jab at Gunplay. As they have new projects in the works, Maybach Music ignored the comments.
50 Cent has conducted several interviews today and he has talked about the continuous delays of his album in each interview. When MTV News had the opportunity to speak with 50 Cent, they changed things up. MTV News asked 50 Cent about the chain and he revealed that it was not what everyone thinks it is, but it was definitely meant to turn heads.
