Alternative rappers have become all the craze and are a driving force behind “New West.” The new energy in Los Angeles is due to Kendrick Lamar. Catching the attention of Game and Snoop Dogg led to Kendrick Lamar being signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. Now, everyone has hailed him as the next legend in the rap game.
Some alternative rappers break into the mainstream, while others remain independent in order to keep their voice. Swollen Members has been making music for two decades and are currently signed to Suburban Noize Records. The Paid Dues Festival is where many alternative and independent artists build their voices.
Earlier today, Murs announced the official lineup for the 8th Annual Paid Dues Festival and among the names mentioned were Swollen Members. With so many names mentioned, it is easy to overlook some of the names announced. Swollen Members has much new music in the works and they will be performing some if it at the Paid Dues Festival.
