During the fall of 2012, Lil Wayne turned off a huge portion of his fans when he said he did not like New York, the state or the city. With apparent struggles, New York hip hop received a shit in the arm, due to Lil Wayne. Jae Millz, Nicki Minaj, and Cory Gunz were all New York City artists who signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money.

Lil Wayne had also worked closely with Juelz Santana and Fabolous on his breakout chart-topping album, Tha Carter III. His “You Ain’t Got Nothin'” song was a favorite off the album and obviously was influenced by New York City. Fabolous and T-Pain once made a strong duo, but when he felt he had been dissed by him, Fab went to war.

When he released his “So NY” song, Fabolous immediately took a shot at Lil Wayne. Fabolous said he was “so New York, Weezy prolly don’t like me.” But, during his interview with MTV News, Fabolous addressed this and he said all is still well between he and Lil Wayne. Only a select few took offense to the words said by Lil Wayne, as the New York artists signed to Young Money have not said anything.
