As impressed as critics were with A$AP Rocky, they will equally be impressed with Joey Bada$$. Those disappointed with the turns hip hop have made, said the solution would be a return to the 1990s style of music. Ultimately, it would have to be someone born in the 1990s to bring it back.
Crews have come back to hip hop, although the styles are different. Lil Wayne made the crews relevant again, with Young Money. Rick Ross later took things to another level with Maybach Music. Some feel Kanye West perfected the modern hip hop crew with G.O.O.D. Music, but New York City has three popular crews.
French Montana leads the Coke Boys, A$AP Rocky is the face of the A$AP Mob, and the leader of Pro Era is Joey Bada$$. Closing 2012 out strong, he is doing big things in 2013. Joey Bada$$ talked to Sway Calloway for his Shade 45 show, “Sway in the Morning” about the Pro Era crew and working with DJ Premier.
