Coming as no surprise, A$AP Rocky is on top of the charts with Long.Live.A$AP, his debut album. While there may have been uncertainty about when A$AP Rocky would release his album, there was no question of the impact it would have. This is not Jay-Z’s New York City, but the Big Apple is back on top.

French Montana helped place the attention back on New York City and fans soon also found themselves fond of A$AP Rocky and the rest of the A$AP Mob. In 2011, Rocky revealed his debut album would be called Long.Live.A$AP. Early in 2012, A$AP Rocky released “Goldie,” which became a viral hit.

“Goldie” became a viral hit, but there were many who did not believe A$AP Rocky could become a mainstream star. But, A$AP Rocky settled that discussion when he recruited the likes of 2 Chainz, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar for “Fuckin’ Problem.” During his first week of sales, A$AP Rocky moved 141,000 copies in his first week.
