With Barack Obama being best-known for being a senator from Chicago, many rappers jumped behind him. Kanye West and Common jumped behind the future president, but Lupe Fiasco remained silent.

In 2011, Lupe Fiasco returned with his Lasers album. On the album, there was the track titled “Words I Never Said.” Lupe Fiasco released “Words I Never Said” as the first single off the album and it had choice words for President Obama. During the press run for his album, Lupe Fiasco explained there was no love lost for the president.
