Today is a big day for hip hop, specifically in New York City and its especially big for Harlem, as A$AP Rocky has finally released Long.Live.A$AP. There have been many critics who lashed out at A$AP Rocky and wrote him off as an internet fad. Starting with the $3 million deal, A$AP Rocky made it clear he is going to be around for a while.

A$AP Rocky caught the attention of the world at SXSW and turned heads with “Goldie,” his first breakout hit. But, A$AP Rocky made his official radio debut with the release of his “Fuckin’ Problem” single, featuring 2 Chainz, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar. The follow-up is also making noise, “1 Train.”

Boasting collaborations with ScHoolboy Q, Joey Bada$$, Drake, and many others, A$AP Rocky is officially a star in this rap game. By listening to each track on Long.Live.A$AP, it is clear that his star has officially risen. At the same time, A$AP Rocky opens up about his insecurities, something everyone goes through, but do not willingly discuss.

Currently the face of a generation labeled as careless and irresponsible, A$AP Rocky has shown this can be the case with this generation, but that there is also more to it than that. Written off as a trendy rapper, A$AP Rocky showed depth on this new album, which is definitely going to be in rotation for the next couple of months. Those who are doubters should definitely be on the lookout for more from A$AP Rocky.
