Out of nowhere, A$AP Rocky has translated his viral success into mainstream commercial success. There were many who saw A$AP Rocky for the first time at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. A$AP Rocky performed alongside Rihanna and did what men around the world have wanted to do for years when he grabbed a handful.
From there, A$AP Rocky teamed up with 2 Chainz, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar for his first radio single, “Fuckin’ Problem.” Immediately hitting radio, the song has been a breakout single. A$AP Rocky went even bigger with “1 Train,” featuring Yelawolf, Joey Badass, Kendrick Lamar, and many others.
Rolling Stone recently talked with A$AP Rocky and he spoke on how both of his singles came together, saying 2 Chainz was locked in for the hook. With 2 Chainz on deck, Rocky wanted others who fit, so he put Drake and Kendrick Lamar on, too. A$AP Rocky spoke on how “1 Train” came together and said Rihanna is a pothead, so they get along well.
