On the West Coast, Los Angeles specifically, there is plenty of talent emerging to the mainstream. Kendrick Lamar, so far, has amassed the most commercial success and he is followed by Tyga. But, another artist to look out for is YG, who is signed to Def Jam and making moves in the game.
Earlier this week, Young Maylay spoke with Hip Hop Vibe. During the interview, the topic of the “New West” came up. Young Maylay explained how the West Coast has changed since when he first debuted. There are all types of artists from Los Angeles and this is now being fully realized.
Back in November, YG announced he was working with DJ Mustard on his latest mixtape, Just Got Re’d Up 2. DJ Ill Will will also be working on the mixtape, for which the artwork was recently released. Nipsey Hussle, Juicy J, Ray J, Wiz Khalifa, Young Jeezy, and more will be featured on the tape.
