The last time N.O.R.E. released an album was in 2007. At the time, N.O.R.E. was promoting his Noreality album. With 2007 serving as a comeback for several artists, N.O.R.E. played his hand. Instead of returning with more albums, N.O.R.E. decided to wait before releasing more music.

N.O.R.E. had a major impact on the mixtape scene in 2011 and 2012. After rebuilding his buzz in the streets, N.O.R.E. decided to release his latest album. In the works since 2009, the album has gone through numerous title changes. Student of the Game is what N.O.R.E. eventually settled upon.

During his recent conversation with MTV News, N.O.R.E. revealed he made yet another change to his album. At the last minute, N.O.R.E. decided to change the title of his album from Student of the Game to P.A.P.I. (Power Always Proves Intelligence). There is no current release date for the album.
