The hottest city in hip hop, all year, has been Atlanta. Earlier this year, Atlanta rookies, Future and 2 Chainz, released their debut albums. Meanwhile, Ca$h Out took his mixtape success mainstream. In between, there have been several other mixtape rappers who have gained maximum exposure from Atlanta.

Late in the year, Trinidad James became Atlanta’s latest breakout artist. With less than twenty days left in 2012, it is safe to say Trinidad James is Atlanta’s final 2012 breakout star. Regardless of his timing, Trinidad James will be here for a little while and that was confirmed today.

Earlier this week, there were rumors of Trinidad James being signed to Def Jam under a $2 million deal. Today, these rumors were confirmed by Joie Manda, who discussed it with Billboard. Over at Def Jam, Trinidad James will join fellow Atlanta emcee, 2 Chainz.
