Read the entire interview below:

You are a native of Washington, DC, correct?  I’m actually originally from Philly.

What is the entertainment scene of the Capitol City like? The DMV has come a long way the past ten years. There are always new faces and new talent emerging in the DMV. With so much talent here, it is sometimes overlooked; you’ve seen the artists who have come out of the DMV, Wale, Raheem Devaughn, Mya, Martin Lawrence, Angel Monroe and more. The DMV has treated me kind and accepted me, that is all I can ask for in a workplace.

Is it tough for a model in that area? I think it’s tough to model anywhere. There is so much competition. The industry is for people who have tough skin, but when you love what you do and have a manager like Lorenzo Hall, president and founder of Street Rootz Entertainment, LLC. whom also have that passion, the three D’s fall in place Drive, Determination and Dedication. With that, there’s nothing you can’t do. I love what I do and have had that passion. Throughout the years you tend to learn what works for you and what doesn’t.  Signing with Street Rootz Entertainment, LLC,, a New York-based talent management and special events company has been one of those things that just work. In the end anything in life that gets easy, just means you’re not working as hard as you once did.

Why did you eventually relocate to Philadelphia? I relocated from Philly to the DMV in 1997.

Which city do you feel has been the best place for you, as a model? Well, I haven’t been in the Philly market, aside from only a couple of magazine shoots, but I don’t live there. So, I would have to say the DMV has embraced me in my rise as Sarah Keys Unlocked to answer your question.

Are you more into traditional modeling, or are you more of a vixen? I’m versatile, I don’t like to limit myself. They both have different qualities I like and it is nice to mix it up a here and there.

What has it been like competing in Playboy’s Miss Social? Well, it is a pretty long process, but it’s a fun competition, I’m very competitive so I like to win. Playboy also is a magazine I’ve wanted to shoot, for a while. One of my goals is to grace the covers of Playboy.

Can you talk about your television roles? Sure, I have done some on screen acting, I have done a couple commercials, and “Step Up 2,” a show based around Fashion, a couple indie films, I was a guest on “The Tyra Banks Show,” a pilot for a reality show called “Grading Curves.” They have all been amazing experiences that I only wish to continue to pursue.

You have done several music videos, which has been your favorite? Several is the understatement of the year (laughs). I would have to say I really enjoyed working with Chubb Rock and Wordsmith, on the “Old 2 The New” video set, I got a chance to do some acting and kick some butt. That’s the type of videos I love. The cast and crew were wonderful to work with. When it’s a small set you get to know the people you’re working with for those days, and I couldn’t have asked to be on a more fun, intense, crazy set.

What is it like watching yourself on camera? It’s a feeling of Accomplishment. I’m moving so fast that sometimes i don’t get the chance to look back at all that I’ve done, so to see the work I’ve done makes me feel like I am still moving in the right direction and that hard work is paying off…

Have you dealt with any of your on-screen love interests falling for you in real life? (Laughs). There you go, I have made a lot of really amazing, lifetime, friends along the way. That’s the beauty of this industry, you are constantly meeting someone new.I would like to also thank Hip Hop Vibe for this interview.
