Being overweight was not in style until Heavy D made it cool. A few years later, The Notorious B.I.G. made it sexy. Once he passed away, there was not a rapper filling the sexy, overweight, category.
Fat Joe consistently made hits, but he made the people party. However, Fat Joe would be instrumental in Rick Ross getting established. Immediately, comparisons were made to B.I.G., but Ross quickly proved he could pave his own way.
Six years later, Rick Ross is going stronger than ever. After consistent delays, Ross released God Forgives, I Don’t back in July. Featuring such bangers as “Diced Pineapples,” Rick Ross continues to make overweight sexy. Since his career rose to new heights, in 2009, Rick Ross has become a fixture on GQ. With the year closing, the quarterly magazine named Rick Ross their “Bawse of the Year” in their December issue.
