Although it has taken five years, the former Roc-A-Fella artists are beginning to gain footing in the game. Freeway was among the first to get re-established, while the other members faced various setbacks. However, there is a three year gap between his own releases, in terms of albums.
Freeway’s fourth studio album, Diamond in the Ruff, comes at a time when Philadelphia hip hop is the primary topic of discussion. Meek Mill had Philly excited again, meanwhile other reasons to celebrate include Tone Trump and Trel Mack. While the newer artists have returned interest to Philadelphia, the veterans have reminded the world of their talent.
Earlier this week, Freeway released “Jungle” on Shade 45. During his visit, Freeway also performed the single live with DJ Kay Slay. The footage was captured by Heavy Dedication TV and was released earlier tonight. Freeway is one of several overlooked artists in the game, as his lyrical abilities have him above the average.
