Since his departure from Roc-A-Fella Records, Freeway jumped around and was on the roster of a few labels. In 2008, Freeway joined Cash Money Records and was even granted an imprint. Freeway would eventually leave Cash Money and released his post-Roc-A-Fella debut, Philadelphia Freezer 2.
Independent has been the route for Freeway in recent years. Babygrande Records is an authority in independent hip hop. After his split from Atlantic Records, Saigon would briefly sign with Babygrande Records. A number of the biggest artists in the game retreated to the label.
Freeway recently spoke to Babygrande Records, as he is working on the follow-up to his third album. Diamond in the Ruff is the name of the latest album from Freeway and he is promoting it until its release next week. During his conversation with Babygrande, Freeway would speak on being an independent artist.
