Fans and critics both had very little positive to say about Nicki Minaj’s sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Everything from the length of the album to the commerical-driven content angered hip hop fans. The masses, however, loved Nicki Minaj’s album and embraced her creativity.
Within the hip hop world, however, Nicki Minaj faced much criticism. Things got so bad until Nicki Minaj found herself arguing with Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97. Siding with their rivals Power 105.1 in their media war, things got out of hand where Nicki Minaj was concerned. Now, she is making it up to fans with The Re-Up.
At the 2012 American Music Awards, expectations were high. Nicki Minaj was equally-embraced, attending the show alongside Justin Bieber, among others. All of the negative comments about Nicki Minaj were null and void, only minutes ago. Nicki Minaj beat out her label-mate, Drake, and J. Cole, among others, for ‘Best Hip Hop Album’ at the 2012 American Music Awards.
