Three years ago, Chris Brown was all but over, after his fight with Rihanna went public. Taking place on the same night as the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, Chris Brown’s career went on a rapid decline. Initially marketed as a “good guy” in the music industry, Chris Brown watched his 2009 album sell below gold, while his first two albums were multi-platinum.

With his albums not selling, Chris Brown went to the mixtape scene in order to regain his momentum. Among the people Chris Brown worked with was Tyga, which led to his chart-topping hit “Deuces.” From that moment until the present day, Chris Brown went on to release a string of hit singles, establishing himself as R&B’s bad boy along the way.

However, Chris Brown still feels hurt, although he takes full blame for the situation. Alienating his fan base and having to bottom out hurt Chris Brown on a personal level. Chris Brown discussed this and his Grammy win during his feature on MTV’s new series, “This Is How I Made It.”
