Lil Wayne talks New York City with MTV News [VIDEO]

With such anthems as “New York,” by Ja Rule featuring Fat Joe and Jadakiss, “Empire State of Mind,” by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys, “NY State of Mind,” by Nas, and many other anthems, when Lil Wayne said he hates New York City he offended many fans. Lil Wayne and Birdman have defended these comments. However, many were angered.

Lil Wayne hating New York City, and the state as a whole, should not come as a surprise. For the bulk of 2010, Lil Wayne spent the year at Rikers Island. His prison stint came after he got into trouble in New York City. While Lil Wayne has overcome all of this with high record sales, once again, his dislike of New York remains.

It was during Lil Wayne’s interview MTV News, he revealed he did not like New York. So, it was only right for Lil Wayne to return to MTV News to discuss his comments. During his latest interview with MTV News, Lil Wayne was asked about Fabolous’ anthem, “So NY.” No surprise, Lil Wayne said he never heard the song.
