A long time has passed since Nelly regularly made the news. Yesterday evening, for a brief period of time, it seemed as if Nelly would join B.G., Ja Rule, and Young Buck, along with many other rappers, in prison. Over the past few years, many of the biggest stars of yesteryear have been caught with, or doing, something highly illegal and sent to prison.
Nelly has presented himself as a good guy in the rap game, despite his past. The St. Louis rapper always was an advocate for positivity. However, while touring in Texas, his tour bus was pulled over by law enforcement. During a routine search, a gun and drugs were found on the bus, landing Nelly and his entire entourage in jail.
Eventually, an associate of Nelly, Brian Keith Jones, took the wrap and will be the one facing charges. It has been a few hours since the story was at the top of headlines. Nelly has since released a statement regarding the situation. Talking to TMZ, Nelly said he had no idea what was on the bus, saying a member of his staff made an unfortunate decision.
