A month ago, the entertainment world was shook to its core when Chris Lighty died of an apparent suicide, a gun shot to the head. In addition to being one of hip hop’s biggest managers, at one time or another guiding the careers of Diggy Simmons, 50 Cent, Fat Joe, Missy Elliott, Ja Rule, and LL Cool J, Lighty was also partnered with many mainstream figures. Kim Kardashian was among the people partnered with Chris Lighty.

Chris Lighty was the ultimate rise to the top story, as he went from being a street kid in The Bronx to operating out of corporate offices in Manhattan. Along the way, Chris Lighty ended up becoming one of the biggest hip hop executives of all-time. Netting millions of dollars in every deal, many wondered why Lighty committed suicide. From the beginning, 50 Cent expressed doubt of Lighty ever committing suicide.

50 Cent launched an investigation about Chris Lighty’s death for Lighty’s mother, who has filed a wrongful death lawsuit. Fox 5 News in New York City has the story.
