Last year, Big Sean was the breakout artist of the year. Signed to G.O.O.D. Music, Big Sean helped to solidfy Kanye West as a successful record executive. Big Sean, Pusha T, and Kanye West all enjoyed a strong 2011, but had little to no interaction. Meanwhile, such crews as Young Money and Maybach Music boasted their unity, leading to the formation of Cruel Summer.
Big Sean started at the beginning of the year, releasing his first official single, “My Last.” The single featured Chris Brown and went on to dominate radio for half the year. Proving he could boast one hit, Big Sean soon began rolling out others. Following singles were “Marvin Gaye and Chardonnay” and “Dance (A$$),” with the Nicki Minaj remix.
Finally Famous was just that in 2011 and Big Sean promised his next album would come in 2012, but it has looked unlikely. Last week, however, Big Sean revealed his album would indeed be released in 2012. During the final show of his Canada is Finally Famous tour, Big Sean announced his new album is titled Hall of Fame, previously revealing the December release date.
