If there is one person, more than Eminem and Dr. Dre, who 50 Cent owes much of his success to it is Chris Lighty. Ten years ago, Chris Lighty took a major chance on 50 Cent, taking him on as a client at the expense of Ja Rule. Two years later, 50 Cent would go from being “rapper rich” to mogul status under the guidance of Lighty.
Late last month, Chris Lighty was found dead in his apartment in The Bronx. Immediately, evidence led many to believe Chris Lighty had committed suicide. In the wake of his death, the biggest names in entertainment spoke out. Everyone from Kim Kardashian to Pam Grier spoke out in grief.
50 Cent was also willing to put his personal issues to the side for Lighty. For the first time since their beef began, 50 Cent and Fat Joe were in the same room. Unlike what both threatened to do when they met, they were civil. Still mourning the loss of his manager, 50 Cent is preparing to hire a team to investigate the death of Lighty, who died after an argument with his wife.
