Big K.R.I.T. talks Def Jam, David Banner, Yelawolf, and new album with Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” [VIDEO]

Hip hop is showing more balance, regionally, as every area is producing a new crop of stars, even Minnesota. Many of the stereotypes about rappers are being diffused too. New York City has returned to prominence through the efforts of the French Montana-led Coke Boys and the A$AP Mob, to which A$AP Rocky is the main draw.

Both French Montana and A$AP Rocky rap with a Southern drawl. The South has produced such artists as Jay Electronica and Big K.R.I.T. These rappers prove lyricism is not something only the East Coast possess. Jay Electronica even raps with a Northern accent, while Big K.R.I.T. is one of hip hop’s most lyrical emcees.

Big K.R.I.T. was recently in New York City. During his stay in New York, Big K.R.I.T. would stop by Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club.” Enjoying a conversation with the crew, plus Krondon, Big K.R.I.T. would talk about Def Jam, David Banner, working with Yelawolf, and his next album.
