As he enters the third decade of his career, Nas is still likely best-known for his 1996 hit single, “If I Ruled the World,” with Lauryn Hill. The year of 2012 has been great for overall hip hop, as many veterans returned with new projects. Such legends as Nas and Lord Finesse have returned to headlines this year.

Lauryn Hill has also returned to prominence, reuniting with Nas. Many have been waiting on a proper sequel to “If I Ruled the World.” The two came together for the unreleased song, “It Wasn’t You.” Nas also released a sequel to “If I Ruled the World,” which was called “Rule.”

Both Nas and Lauryn Hill have released new albums this year. Nas received critical-acclaim with his Life is Good album, as has Lauryn Hill with Black Rage. In order to promote both of their albums, Nas and Lauryn Hill are going on promotional tours. Attempting to draw in more fans, they are combining their tours on certain dates.
