Throughout his career, Busta Rhymes has always been a trend-setter. Before braids became popular with rappers, Busta Rhymes wore them. Busta Rhymes also cut his signature braids, leading such rappers as Xzibit, Bow Wow, and Ludacris to do the same. As he is in style, he is the same when it comes to business.
Busta Rhymes would follow suit when it came to signing with Cash Money Records. A number of artists have been signing with Birdman’s label. Among the artists who have signed to the label this past year has been Mystikal. The other big coup of 2011 for the label was Busta Rhymes.
Coinciding with his deal with Cash Money Records was Busta Rhymes’ deal with Google Play, a history-making deal. The first product of their partnership was his free album, Year of the Dragon. Many have been impressed by the deal and Busta Rhymes has done much discussion about the album, most recently speaking with Vlad TV about it.
