Name-dropping has become Game’s staple over the past seven years, along with his feud with 50 Cent. Game has gone through many changes throughout his career, but certain characteristics have remained. One is the admiration Game has for producer-turned-rapper, Kanye West.

On his 2008 single, “My Life,” Game mentions Kanye West, rapping about his “Jesus piece” chain. Throughout his career, Game has rapped about Kanye West and his chain, as has West. Kanye West had the opportunity to work with Game on his first two albums, The Documentary and Doctor’s Advocate.

Three albums later, Game began preparing fans for his fifth album, which he had properly titled F.I.V.E. (Fear is Victory’s Evolution). The album did not have a set release date, which did not matter, especially when 50 Cent released a project with the same name. In addition to this, Trey Songz released an album called Chapter V.

With so much saturation over the 5 album title, Game decided to change his album title to Jesus Piece. Game was working with Kanye West on a song with the same title when he decided to rename his album.
