Out of nowhere, 2 Chainz has become one of the biggest rappers in the game. For well over ten years, however, 2 Chainz has been right there in the public eye. When Ludacris signed with Def Jam, a deal which included distribution for his Disturbing Tha Peace label, 2 Chainz (as Tity Boi) was signed. The label boasted Playaz Circle, Tity Boi and Dolla Boy.
2 Chainz decided to change his name, in order to go solo, and began releasing mixtape tracks. With each track, which soon led to his own mixtapes, 2 Chainz’ profile continued to rise. It was only a matter of time before 2 Chainz had his own deal with Def Jam. In addition to his deal, Kanye West also became one of his biggest supporters.
Before he released Based on a T.R.U. Story, 2 Chainz was in Las Vegas to speak to Bootleg Kev. He discussed his growth as an artist, his contribution to Kanye’s album with G.O.O.D. Music, Cruel Summer, and his own debut album.
