Regardless of how some feel about him, 50 Cent is the ultimate American dream, as he did not stop until all of his goals were reached. 50 Cent was one of the biggest underdogs, playing David to the Goliath of Ja Rule. In the end, 50 Cent became the biggest rapper in the game and Ja Rule suffered numerous setbacks and is currently in prison.

50 Cent has become much more than a rapper, establishing himself as a prominent businessman and movie producer. In addition to his own films, 50 Cent has made a name for himself as an actor, starring alongside Robert DeNiro twice. The two most recently came together for the upcoming film, Freelancers.

XXL recently spoke to 50 Cent about his upcoming film and several other topics, which would expect commentary from the G-Unit Records CEO. 50 Cent said portraying a cop on Freelancers, which premieres tomorrow in New York City in Los Angeles, was fun. On this film, 50 Cent said he had many more scenes with Robert DeNiro than he did in Righteous Kill.

In addition to Freelancers, 50 Cent recently created his own fight promotion company, Team Money Team Promotions. Initially, it was believed that this was 50 Cent’s company. However, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. owns the company, but 50 Cent said he had the idea of involving him in it. Given what he has done as one of hip hop’s biggest promoters, it was a big win for Team Money Team to have input from 50 Cent.

For close to seven years, 50 Cent has had to offer his opinion on everything Kanye West has to say, or what he does. Kanye West made his relationship with Kim Kardashian public four months ago. In the time since then, the two have made numerous public appearances together. Kim Kardashian has prominently featured Kanye West on her E! reality show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and Kanye West has made her a part of her music, dedicating “Perfect Bitch” to her. 50 Cent said if Kanye West thinks she is perfect, she’s perfect, and fans will love the song because of who made it. He went on to say one man’s trash is another’s treasure.

50 Cent publicly called out his G-Unit members, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, for their apparent lack of ambition. Immediately after being called out, both put out their long-awaited mixtapes. The same day they revealed their mixtapes, 50 Cent revealed his single, “New Day,” with Alicia Keys and Dr. Dre, was on the way. When the song was released, Alicia Keys released a song of the same name and instrumental, without 50 Cent or Dr. Dre, confusing many. While 50 Cent is using this version for his album, it was initially intended for Dr. Dre’s Detox, but he did not like the song, meanwhile Alicia Keys went ahead and created her own version of the song.

With Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo releasing new mixtapes, XXL asked 50 Cent if he felt they are showing more ambition. 50 Cent revealed he has not talked to them much and blamed himself for this and said he disabled them. Because he did so much for them, earlier in their careers, 50 Cent feels their work ethic is not consistent. While their mixtapes are out, 50 Cent questioned what comes next, as he has not seen any music videos come from their new projects. The mixtape strategy, alone, is old, according to 50 Cent, as that is what he was doing ten years ago.
