Few rappers have managed to keep a close eye to the world outside of hip hop the way Nas has been able to over the past two decades. Eighteen years ago, a young Nas would amaze critics with his knowledge, which was plastered on all of his albums. As time has passed, Nas has continued to relate to almost everyone.

Faces and names have changed over the years, but Nas has remained in the mix. He has endured numerous highs and lows, but he released Life is Good to all-time highs. Weeks after he released his new album, Nas has remained in the spotlight. After sitting down with CNN, it was only right for Nas to continue his media rounds with a stop at MSNBC.

Nas visited MSNBC’s “The Ed Show,” speaking with Michael Eric Dyson, and they held a very intellectual conversation. During the interview, Nas spoke on numerous topics. Among the primary topics was Nas’ longevity in the rap game, as he has remained popular for close to twenty years. With 2012 being an election year, discussion also centered around President Obama and many other topics.
