The Fayetteville hip hop scene did not show up on many hip hop fans’ radars until J. Cole was signed by Jay-Z to Roc Nation. However, the state of North Carolina is booming with hip hop talent, including more from Fayetteville. Lo Keys is one of the biggest names on the North Carolina hip hop scene and he is also a native of Fayetteville.
Lo Keys has found a surrogate home in the New York City hip hop scene, as his mixtape domination has come alongside records hosted by DJ Bigg Mike and DJ Woogie. Meanwhile, Lo Keys has been collaborating with French Montana and many others. Working outside of his home state has made the rising rapper into one of hip hop’s brightest stars.
Earlier this year, Lo Keys continued his mixtape domination with American Greed. The mixtape was met with positive reviews. However, Lo Keys has continued to release new music off the project, including the title track of the mixtape. “American Greed” is the name of the latest single, to which the music video was released earlier this week.
