The biggest thing to hit Atlanta in years has been 2 Chainz, a veteran in the game while a newcomer at the same time. Once he decided to take his career solo, 2 Chainz hit the mixtape game hard. His work ethic paid off, as 2 Chainz would soon land a joint venture deal with Def Jam.

2 Chainz immediately began working on his debut album, Based on a T.R.U. Story, with the album partly named after his new record label. The joint venture deal between 2 Chainz and Def Jam included the formation of The Real University, his new label. Currently, he is developing talent under the label.

The first official release from 2 Chainz was his “No Lie” single, which featured Drake, his tour-mate. When Drake started his “Club Paradise” tour, which also features rising stars, Meek Mill and French Montana, he said he wanted songs with them all. The first song recorded was “No Lie,” the lead single from 2 Chainz.

Earlier today, 2 Chainz revealed, via Twitter, his “No Lie” single had gone gold.
