Look no further when discussing successful independent artists. Mac Miller made history last year with his Blue Slide Park album, but Tech N9ne has been dominating for over a decade. Over the course of his career, Tech N9ne has found success without being signed to a major label. Instead, he has remained a part of Strange Music.

Tech N9ne has released several albums since 1999, yet coming short of platinum statuses. In recent years, however, several major label artists have reached out. Mims featured Tech N9ne on his 2009 album, Guilt. More notable, however, was when Lil Wayne reached out to Tech N9ne from prison and featured him on Tha Carter IV.

Being featured alongside Lil Wayne and the other big names, along with an overall increase in overall interest, Tech N9ne is at his commercial peak. Adding to this rise is the success of his 2006 single, “Caribou Lou.” Recently, the song, which is taken from his Everready album, released in 2006, certified gold with the RIAA.
