In a matter of six years, Rick Ross transformed from a popular rapper in Miami into the biggest figure in hip hop. A position which was held by Lil Wayne for years has officially been taken by Rick Ross. Without releasing an album, Rick Ross was the most-dominant rapper last year. This year, however, he has continued to dominate and his album is on the way.
Rick Ross has built an empire with Maybach Music in a little over a year. The original roster consisted of Gunplay, Torch, and Young Breed. Last year, Rick Ross added Wale and Meek Mill, later Stalley. Other members of the label, such as Maybach Dice have stepped up this year, as has Gunplay, Torch, and Young Breed.
With his album two weeks away, Rick Ross called into Bootleg Kev and they conversed for ten minutes. In that span of time, the two discussed the Maybach Music empire and Rick Ross’ advances in his own career. Over the past year and a half, Rick Ross has proven to be much more than a rapper, he is also an astute businessman.
