Kendrick Lamar rose from being another mixtape rapper in Compton to the next major star on the iconic Interscope Records. Upon hearing Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre immediately began working with him, soon making the decision to sign him. When Kendrick Lamar signed with Aftermath, Interscope made an offer to Top Dawg Entertainment, the home of Kendrick Lamar, for a joint venture deal.
With his good kid, m.A.A.d. city debut album due on October 2, Kendrick Lamar has continueed to make his media rounds. While in Chicago for the Pitchfork Festival 2012, Kendrick Lamar spoke to the popular Chicago-based hip hop website, Gowhere Hip Hop. During the interview, Kendrick Lamar discussed his friendship with Lady Gaga, his debut album, and more.
