Aside from Watch the Throne, Kanye West has been relatively silent since the release of his comeback LP, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. After his brilliant comeback, Kanye West disappeared, once again. Big Sean and Pusha T have been the sole representatives of West’s label, G.O.O.D. Music.

Last summer, Big Sean revealed G.O.O.D. Music would soon have their own compilation album out, following in the footsteps of Young Money and Maybach Music. Though Big Sean was the only person speaking on the album, Kanye West soon confirmed rumors. During the mid-spring, West was in Cannes reportedly working on a short film.

While in Cannes, Kanye West confirmed the film, which would share the same title as his next album, which would be released with G.O.O.D. Music, Cruel Summer. After releasing “Mercy,” which features Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz, Kanye West began heating things up. Last night, during an interview with Funkmaster Flex, Pusha T revealed an August 7 release date for the album.
