The faces and the names have drastically changed since 1994, but Nas has remained the same, as he prepares his tenth opus, Life is Good. Nas has managed to remain relevant over the past few years and now finds himself in a rare position. Throughout his career, Nas has been overshadowed by Jay-Z, DMX, Ja Rule, Cam’ron, 50 Cent, and others in New York City.

For various reasons, none of these artists are as relevant as they once were, leaving Nas the last remaining figure. Alongside Jadakiss, Raekwon, and a host of newcomers, Nas is arguably the most-popular rapper in New York City, at the moment. Much of this has to come from the new music he is delivering.

In less than a month, Nas will release Life is Good. With several songs already leaked off the album, Nas’ music has been met with critical acclaim. MTV News recently spoke to Nas about his new music. During his interview, Nas said Salaam Remi has compared Life is Good to many other classic albums.
