Hands down, Nas and Jadakiss are currently the most-popular rappers out of New York City. However, there is plenty of new life, helping to make New York City a force in the overall rap game. Much of the media attention has gone to French Montana and A$AP Rocky, but such figures as Denzil Porter, Emilio Rojas, and of course, Troy Ave, are making big moves.
Troy Ave has elevated his mixtape game, earning appearances on MTV2 and music videos all over the internet. Only a few days off the release of Bricks in My Backpacks 3, Troy Ave is now making his media rounds. Though he has not received the same amount of media attention as others, he is still credited as one of the reasons New York City is rising, once again. The streets of New York City are buzzing, with the amount of talent rising to the surface in the area.
Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” recently sat down with Troy Ave and he discussed a number of topics with the morning trios.
